ANNOUNCING TOY BOX ON ABC, HOSTED BY ERIC STONESTREET
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ABC has announced Toy Box, our toy inventor competition with Mattel and hosted by Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet! Each episode will have a set of the amazing amateur inventors we met through the course of our work on this show. These inventors will run their designs through various trials, aiming for a spot in the finale in which they'll pitch their inventions to a panel of kid judges, who MysticArt also discovered.
The winner of the competition will have their toy brought to market by Mattel, with all the marketing and shelf-position perks that entail from having the support of the brand behind Barbie, American Girl, and Hot Wheels.
Executive Producer and Hudsun Media CEO Michael Rourke says, "For the first time, viewers will get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of toy making, as they see what it takes to design the next great American toy."

Meet New MysticArt Assistant Emily Hallenstein!
MysticArt adds new key team member Emily Hallenstein! Emily joined the MysticArt Pictures team just a few months ago, but she already feels like a part of the family. Emily embodies our motto of "relentless optimism," and always comes to work with a positive attitude and ready to learn new aspects of the company and the process of bringing new projects to life.
What are you working on now?
One of the many projects I'm working on is the show 'This Time Next Year,' where people achieve their ultimate goal in 365 days. This show is truly inspiring and I'm excited for everyone to learn about their stories! In addition, I'm also having a ton of fun working with our creative team on development and social media for MysticArt Pictures to help research and outreach for new shows. I love being able to create different strategies for the amazing shows we are working on and to utilize what is in the media today.
Tell us about your background and how you got into the business.
I received my Bachelor's Degree at the University of Iowa in Theatre with a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Performing Arts. I've always been intrigued by the Entertainment Industry, and the University of Iowa made me fall more in love with the business side, particularly talent and casting. I first got my start in the business interning with WGN News in Chicago, IL. After WGN, I interned in Los Angeles with NBC Universal. There, I worked in the Talent and Casting department for E!, G4, and The Style Network.
What are some things you're excited to have learned so far at MysticArt? What do you hope to learn in the future?
Being fairly new to the industry, I have learned A LOT!!! The MysticArt team has been so helpful teaching me all about our process in talent and production and how to create different outreach strategies. What goes into bringing a show to life is amazing and looking back at the end is very fulfilling. I love everything I have learned so far and I'm excited to learn so much more. MysticArt is not just a workplace, it's a culture and a creative community, and I love the team environment.
What are you looking for on This Time Next Year?
For 'This Time Next Year,' we are looking for people who have big goals and will achieve them within 365 days. I love this show because it is very inspiring to see someone dream about what their live could be if they achieved their goal and see them go for it in front of America. I'm also starting on the new show 'Mini Mentors,' which MysticArt is producing and features amazing young kids with big skills that are SO inspiring!
What are some tips and advice you have for someone who would like to get in to the business?
Stay positive, be organized, and always be fearless!

Our diversified slate of projects all have one thing in common: they are packaged with compelling talent. Our current roster of punier new formats and docu-series explore what's possible for individuals seizing on the chance to follow their dreams, goals, and find new ways of doing life. In addition to our projects in various stages at several networks, we are currently producing a new family docu-series titled Meet the Putmans for TLC centered around a family of 25 living under one roof, as well as a transformational format starring a group of some of the country's most successful young kids.
Our CEO has always had a passion for discovering young talent and giving them the platform to showcase their beyond-their-years wit, wisdom, and skills. We are currently producing a new kid talk-format starring kids that are some of the most notable influencers of today. These tweens know up-to-the-minute what's trending, what's not, and bring their unique perspectives and creative insights to the world at large.
The MysticArt team has already had a busy 2016, completing shows with both primetime and major cable networks across a broad variety of genres, including competition, game show, docu-series, transformational, and celebrity and expert-driven. Meet Talent Associate Producer Jazz Trice!
Meet Talent Associate Jazz Trice! Jazz joined the MysticArt Pictures team on the show Debt Free, and we are thrilled he has stayed on for the Kid Chef Competition. Jazz likes to say he's lucky enough to get to work on fun unscripted television shows while slowly exploring Los Angeles one restaurant at a time, meaning our Kid Chef show is perfect for him. We are so lucky to have him on board!
What are you working on now?
I'm working on a great cooking competition show featuring talented kid chefs cooking alongside their parents! It's the first cooking show with parent/child duos and I can't wait to see them facing off against each other. I'm talking about some of the best kid chefs in the country that are better than most adults and definitely better than me! I've already added some of their recipes to my personal cookbook.
Tell us about your background and how you got in the business.
I received my bachelor's degree in Dramatic Art and Psychology from UC Davis. I became a huge theatre nerd (acting, writing, and directing) while juggling psychology classes and competing on my track and field team. I moved to LA right after and had an "Eat, Pray, Love" couple of years before getting my first unscripted job in the talent department of "Hell's Kitchen." I learned to love casting and getting to explore the lives of people from different backgrounds and professions from month-to-month. After a lot of various unscripted shows and development work, I landed at MysticArt and have been here all summer '16.
What are some of the highlights of your career?
I'm very proud of my time working as a Casting Producer on A&E's Intervention. That was the most challenging show to work on due to the subject matter and the amount of variables involved to get people on air. I gained so much experience in a short amount of time and it also helped to dispel the misconception about those suffering from addiction. It was very stressful but very rewarding getting to see people get the help they need and change their lives for the better. And working on an Emmy award-winning show is a huge plus!
What are you looking for on your new show?
My team and I are looking for kids that are extremely passionate about cooking and approach it as an art form to perfect. If you watch cooking shows more than cartoons and act as the head chef in your family, then you're exactly what we need! For parents, we want those that are fiercely competitive, fully support their children's endeavors and know their kids are the best of the best! We want kids and parents that love to work together on a team and will do anything to win first place.
What are some tips and advice you have for someone who would like to audition for your show?
The first rule is to be yourself, but make sure to crank that energy up to an 11! We want your personalities to shine through in our interviews, so have fun and relax. Also, make sure to constantly be working on your cooking skills. If you're serious about it and work hard enough, you'll get on a show sooner than you think!

Meet MysticArt Captain of Technology Jonathan Sanders!
MysticArt wants to recognize Jonathan Sanders, our Captain of Technology and an incredibly talented editor. Through seven years of working with MysticArt, Jonathan has worked on everything from game shows to docu-series to sizzle reels with us after getting his foot in the door as an intern! Having recently wrapped editing the talent for season 2 of Project Runway Junior and a primetime show called Toy Box, he is currently working on the Kid Chef Competition for one of America's finest lifestyle networks.
Describe what it is you do.
I'm an editor at MysticArt for the majority of shows we cast. What I do is take the interviews that casting producers conduct and cut them down into a nice package. These edits are then presented to the network so that the talent can be considered for their respective show (and hopefully get cast!).
What are you working on now?
I'm currently working on the kids cooking show and it's definitely a fun one!
Tell us about your background and how you got in the business.
I was born and raised in a small town in Ohio and always dreamed of working in the Film/TV industry. In 2007, I enrolled in the film program at Full Sail University and graduated with a Bachelors two years later. I moved to LA after graduation and applied for an internship at MysticArt Pictures. After interning for several months, I was hired on as an editor and have called Mystic my home for the past 7 years. #blessed
What are some of the highlights of your career?
My biggest career highlights include every season of Wipeout I've worked on (Seasons 3-7) and pretty much every game show I've done (they're my fav). Last year I spent some time in an associate producer/editor position at NBC's Peacock Productions and learned a lot about the other side of casting and development. That was definitely a career high (and working on the lot was pretty rad too!). Another would be helping launch a YouTube channel, Snarled, and experiencing a different side of post production and pushing myself to a new level. Having my work viewed and enjoyed by thousands on YouTube is definitely high up on the career highlights list.
What is a key piece of advice for talent when they are getting ready for an interview?
The biggest piece of advice I can give any talent is to keep your energy level at 110% during an interview. Don't be afraid to be yourself! But like, your TV self. Not boring. Don't be boring. Let your personality shine!

Meet MysticArt Talent Associate Destiny Altvater!
MysticArt Pictures would like to recognize Talent Associate Destiny Altavar, who has been an extraordinary addition to the MysticArt family! Congratulations on your work on Nickelodeon's Paradise Run and on Toy Box, and we can't wait to have your talent skills on This Time Next Year. CEO Katy Wallin adds, "You have amazing people skills, a contagiously positive attitude, and a beyond impeccable work ethic. We are so happy you have joined our team!"
What are you working on right now?
I am currently working on a show called This Time Next Year. This is a very exciting show because we get to help people finally achieve goals they have always wanted to, but for some reason or another, have put off. I love helping people, so this is an incredible show to work on!
Tell us about your background and how you got into the business.
I have always loved television shows and movies! I would spend so much time watching them while growing up that my dad told me, "If you are going to spend this much time watching TV, you better turn it into a career and make some money someday!" I hadn't even thought of that! So, that is what I decided to do. I started as a Talent Assistant at 21 years old and worked my way up. Now I get to create what I love every day and enjoy what I do!
What are some highlights of your career?
I absolutely love that I am constantly getting to work on something new. I love so many kinds of TV shows and love all different kinds of people. It is fun that I have gotten to work on everything from a scripted comedy to a transformational alternative television show to a kid's show.
What are you looking for on your new show?
We are looking for people with huge goals! If they have weight to lose and want to compete in a marathon or if they are looking for a long-lost family member and want to be reunited, we want to hear from them! And over 365 days, we want to watch them transform their life in some way, for the better!

Meet Our Project Runway Junior Talent Associate Avery Steele!
What are you working on now?
I'm currently working on the second season of Project Runway Junior. I love working on shows that give young people the opportunity to show off their incredible talent and shine. It makes me so happy!
Tell us about your background and how you got in the business.
I have always been mildly/really obsessed with reality television, and, even at age 10, I remember being really curious about how the shows were cast. After I graduated from college, I started looking for a job within the industry. I came across an internship opportunity at MysticArt Pictures online, and I was so excited. I learned so much during my internship because of my amazing mentor, talent producer Sammy Amiransari. She showed me the ropes, and before I knew it, I was offered a job at Mystic. I've now been casting for four years.
What are some of the highlights of your career?
I have to say that working on Project Runway Junior has been the highlight. I cannot say it enough - I LOVE meeting and speaking with amazingly talented teens. The next generation is inspiring, and they remind me that our future is bright.
What are you looking for on your new show?
We are looking for teenagers who are talented and passionate about fashion design. Being on Project Runway Junior will open doors that adults within the fashion industry would love to have, and we are looking for teens who recognize that opportunity.
